Rewa Police Find and Return 6-Month-Old Kidnapped Child to Family, Arrest 11 Accused

Accused caught from Mauganj and Kalyan, Maharashtra after CCTV investigation

The Madhya Pradesh Police is committed to the safety of its citizens. In line with this commitment, the Rewa Police successfully found a six-month-old child who was kidnapped on the night of May 7 from College Chauraha and returned him to his family. The police arrested 11 accused in this case, while one accused is still at large. Notably, on the night of May 7, the six-month-old child was sleeping near his parents at College Chauraha. Two accused took the child and fled on a motorcycle. The child’s family informed the Rewa Police and lodged a complaint. The Civil Line Police promptly registered the case under Crime Number 222/2024, Sections 363, 370, and 34, and began searching for the accused. Within five days, the Rewa Police apprehended the accused from Mauganj and Kalyan, Maharashtra, and safely returned the child to his parents. The child’s parents make a living by vending.

Police Form Three Teams

Considering the case as highly sensitive and sensational, the police immediately began searching for the child. To catch the accused, the police swiftly acted on the information, setting up roadblocks throughout the city and district. Under the guidance of the Inspector General of Police, Rewa, and the Deputy Inspector General of Police, and the direction of Superintendent of Police Mr. Vivek Singh, teams were formed as follows: Technical Cell CCTV monitoring led by Mr. Virendra Patel, Footage Tracking Team led by Sub-Inspector Mr. Arvind Singh, and an SIT team for investigation led by City Superintendent of Police Mrs. Ritu Upadhyay. These teams were led by Additional Superintendent of Police Rewa, Mr. Anil Sonkar, and Mr. Vivek Lal. The teams identified the motorcycle-borne kidnappers, Mohd. Salim and Atul Jaiswal, residents of Mauganj, through CCTV footage. After identifying the accused, the police raided Mauganj and arrested Salim from an isolated location. During interrogation, Salim disclosed the entire incident 

Child Rescued from Mumbai by Police

During the investigation, it was found that the accused Nitin Soni had come to Mauganj with his wife Swati. Together with their accomplices Mohd. Haroon, Mohd. Salim, Muskan Rawat, Devesh Jaiswal, and Guddu Gupta, they planned the kidnapping. According to the plan, they kidnapped the 6-month-old child and took him to Mumbai, Maharashtra. In Mumbai, Nitin and Swati sold the child to Amol Madhukar, Arbi alias Sajel, and Pradeep Kolambe for 8 lakh rupees. Amol and Sajel then sold the child to Shrikrishna Santaram Patil for 29 lakh rupees. Amol works as an attendant at a well-known hospital in Mumbai, while his wife Arbi works for a share trading company. Shrikrishna Santaram Patil, a resident of Raigad, Maharashtra, had no children even after many years of marriage and agreed to pay 29 lakh rupees for the child with the help of the accused.

Police Arrest the Accused

The Rewa Police successfully arrested the following individuals in the case:

  • Mohammad Salim Ansari alias Aslam (19) from Mauganj
  • Mohammad Haroon alias Mangure (24) from Mauganj
  • Devesh Jaiswal alias Dada (24) from Mauganj, currently residing in Sanjay Nagar, Rewa
  • Muskan Rawat alias Parvati alias Paro (19) from Mauganj
  • Nitin Soni (26) from Kalyan, Maharashtra
  • Swati Soni (24) from Kalyan, Maharashtra
  • Amol Arunkar (35) from Kalyan
  • Arbi alias Sajel (32) from Kalyan
  • Pradeep Kolambe from Kalyan
  • Shrikrishna Santaram Patil (53) from Makhakachali, Raigad, Maharashtra
  • Guddu (22) from Mauganj

However, the police are still searching for Atul (25) from Mauganj.
